Gameplay

PS4 was already a good console in delivering tremendous gaming power with stunning HDR visuals. But PlayStation 4 Pro takes the game one step further. With twice the power of GPU compared to PS4, games load faster. The PlayStation 4 Pro can play games with 4K resolutions and High Dynamic Range Visuals. The HDR technology adds more richness and sharpness to colors.

Design

The PlayStation 4 Pro follows similar design aesthetics as of standard PlayStation 4. It gives you the same parallelogrammic effect as PS4, but this time is bigger in size and better in performance.

It comes in a matte black finish. The PS logo sits on the top center of the console. It gives a more elegant touch to the console in terms of symmetry. On the front of the console, capacitive buttons are replaced by plastic buttons to avoid accidental touches. They are similar in working as capacitive buttons.

PS4 Pro is accompanied by two Superspeed USB 3.1 ports on the front and one on the back. The primary purpose of the ports is to charge and sync the PS4 controllers. Ethernet, optical audio, and PlayStation Camera ports are also present.

As well as the outside of the console is concerned, Sony did a fantastic job. But don’t forget inside of the console, the leading powerhouse. The console comes with 1TB of storage, 500GB more than the original PS4, to overcome low storage problems. For PS4 Pro to download faster games, Sony also has an improved wifi antenna on PS4 Pro that uses dual-band 802.11 ac wireless.

Performace

Once you have your brand-new PS4 Pro linked, it’s time to turn it on and get it set up and thankfully establish the PS4 Pro is lightning-fast. You can swipe through the menus without much effort, inputting the credentials like which time zone you’re in, your wifi network ID, and password, which are much more accessible than ever before.

Transferring data is way much easier than before. Just connect your older console and a newer one with the same wifi connection. Connect both consoles via ethernet cable; here you go. Sony has made it relatively easy for users to transfer data from one console to another. It took almost an hour and a half to transfer data. But after the transfer was complete, we had the same setup on the new console as the previous one.

As you know, PlayStation 4 Pro offers enhanced performance and 4K resolution for your favorite titles. The future games will also be taking advantage of the enhanced processing power of PS4 Pro when they are released.

Boosted performance can materialize itself in different means.

One way might be that games will dip into 4K resolution at 30 frameworks per second; another might be much more in-depth appearances, or perhaps the alternative to choose a greater framework rate 1080p resolution. It’s up to designers to choose how they desire their games to benefit from the upgraded handling power of the Pro in a feature Sony calls “Pro Mode.”

PS4 Pro Controller

A new PS4 Pro console comes with a new DualShock 4 controller. Sony has decided to move away from the traditional controller you’ve been using for years. A light bar is embedded into the touch bar of the controller to give the controller a more modern look than the previous one. Triggers feel lighter in hand. I forgot to mention that the controller can switch between Bluetooth and wired mode via USB cable when connected to the console.
